My Mayor Bloomberg column brought some interesting emails from New Yorkers remembering other remarks that showed his "uncommon touch."
"Remember when the cops handed out thousands of parking tickets after a blizzard, and the Mayor told those who didn't like it to just dig out their cars and move them? He then had to reverse himself."
"His arrogance is becoming annoying. After the power cut two weeks ago on the Upper East Side he pronounced something like 'no big deal, all we have to do is reset a few clocks'. "You forgot that when people complained about snow removal "his highness" told a press conference that if people thought they could do better they should join the Dept of Sanitation."
To sum it best, however, writer Linda Stewart sent me a link to her Human Events article-
