The Republican Jewish Coalition has launched an advertizing campaign saying "Wesley Clark should apologize" for his recent comments that "the Israeli press" and "New York money people" were pushing the American government to take military action against Iran. A copy of the ad can be seen here. Considering that Israeli and Jewish newspapers are full of stories of rising anti-Semitism across the world and plans by Iran to wipe out Israel, given the immense of amount of power Clark attributes to Jews, we're reminded of an old Yiddish joke: Yankel is reading an anti-Semitic newspaper. His friend Abe walks by and is shocked. He asks why Yankel isn't reading the Jewish weekly.Yankel replies: "The Jewish papers are full of depressing stories of pogroms and other attacks on Jews. This anti-Semitic paper has the good news: Jews control the banks, they have all the money ... I prefer the good news." Of course this is only funny as long as the likes of Wesley Clark are kept out of power.
